Why Getting out of Debt was a Bad Idea – Your Personal Development Minute

Years ago, I had a small amount of credit card debt. It was about $6000. I carried it for a while and then finally had enough and made a goal to get out of debt. I got a few books on eliminating debt because after carrying it for so long, I was used to it. I needed a little help.

I did everything the books said. I analyzed my past to find out the root of my relationship with money. I made a budget to see the true state of my expenses. I made a goal to be debt free and wrote it down. Finally, I set up a payment plan and focused on being debt free.

It worked. About two years later, I was completely free of all credit card debt. I had reached my goal.
